After complaining to my mother and mother-in-law about the truly frightening things that are going on, they admitted that they were clueless about what to do. So I made up the handout for people that have always paid some attention, but left the heavy lifting to others. People want to do something, but they are intimidated by the process. The attached addresses that intimidation. It has the information for Florida. Sometime a zip code is split between two representatives and they will need the +four zip code they can get it here: www.USPS.gov.

The United States of America is not a democracy, it is a constitutional republic. The power of the government rises up FROM the people, not DOWN from Washington. The people (that’s you) have the responsibility to tell their elected representatives how they will be governed.
The pomp and circumstance that surrounds politicians is largely of their own making. Many ordinary citizens are intimidated by this. That’s the way the politicians like it! It is time for each and every ordinary citizen to rise up and let their wishes for a smaller and more responsive government be known. It is up to you to take the first step.
CONTACT YOUR REPRESENTATIVE
MAIL A LETTER
Sending your rep an actual letter has the most impact. It is estimated that for each letter received, the politician believes that there are another 40 people out there that did not have the time to compose and mail a letter*. Sitting down and composing your thoughts into a coherent message is vital – and that coherent message can be used later, as we shall see.
Be respectful, but firm! Include your name and address, so the representative can respond to your letter. With any luck, the response will not be a form letter. If the response is a form letter – take note – especially if the response has absolutely nothing to do with your original letter.
FAX A LETTER
Take the original coherent message from above and fax* it to the representative.
CALL
When you call* the rep’s office, you will talk to an aide, most likely an intern. They may ask for your zip code. Again, be respectful, to the point and firm. Summarize your message. Sometimes an aide may be disrespectful to you, and if this happens, you are within your rights to ask for a supervisor. It is not their job to argue with you – only to relay the message to your representative. When important legislation is about to be voted on it is a good thing when the Capitol switchboard is overwhelmed by your incoming calls. That’s a message your representatives will understand.
EMAIL
Each representative in the House and the Senate has their own website. You can go to www.house.gov or www.senate.gov to find your Congressman and Senators. Once you are at your representative’s website look for the word “Contact” and this will take you to a web form that will ask for your name and address and provide a small window to type your message. Now, you can take the coherent message that you wrote (from above) and edit it to a minimum. (“I want you to vote NO on taxing birthday cakes, because they are a vital component of birthday parties.”)
*Each of these contact methods takes up time or space and carries the most impact. While email doesn’t take up much time or space in the mailroom, the sheer volume of email has been known to overwhelm computer systems. That makes an impact!

If you have not read Mark Levin’s Liberty and Tyranny, I suggest that you do. It is only 200 or so pages, and is as concise a definition the STATIST as I have seen. The statist is the enemy, no matter the secondary label – Republican, Democrat or Independent. We must know our enemy in order to fight it.
I wish that I could afford to buy multiple copies and leave them in waiting rooms throughout the country.
Another great book is Liberal Fascism by Jonah Goldberg. It is a great study of the history of the progressive movement, its origins and implementation throughout the 20th century.
Now, as far as voting out EVERY incumbent , I don’t think that is the answer. And it doesn’t really matter how long they’ve been there. – i.e. John McCain used to be a conservative until he “reached across the aisle” so many times, he fell out of his chair. Ha! We must identify the statists and remove them. Generally the Democrats are statists. You’ll notice that the Democrats like to group people – the black voters, the Hispanic voters,the union voters, the gay/lesbian voters, the green voters. There is no place in
the Democratic party for the individual, and the individual’s liberty is the basis of our Founding documents. True Republicans (conservatives) promote individual liberty. Statists believe that the State’s (feds) discretion is superior to the individual’s.
That being said, in Florida we have a Republican governor that is Obama’s lapdog – he did not resist the stimulus money, but eagerly embraced it. He promotes the “green” agenda. He supports Cap and Trade that will devastate what is left of our economy. He appointed Lemieux as Martinez’s replacement. (and Martinez was not a dependable Republican) Lemieux doesn’t have a history yet in the Senate, but his prior record in State politics suggests that he will continue the unreliable voting record. Marco Rubio is running for the seat in 2010 and has been described as the “Rocky Balboa” of conservatives. http://marcorubio.com/ I will personally move heaven and earth to get him as our Senator, and the consensus among the Tea Party is that he is our candidate: however because of our legal status we will not be able to work for him as a group. We cannot afford to let Charlie Crist be our Senator.
Charlie Crist is a statist. Allen Boyd is a statist. Bill Nelson is a statist. Jeff Miller is a consistent conservative.

I joined Resistnet the day after the immaculation of our dear leader in January. Flip This House is relatively new. I have joined it and I hope you will too.
Resisnet is a social network of patriots and is organized by State, all the way down to the congressional district, so you need to join the Florida and District group as well. There are plenty of groups of interest – Oath Keepers (those in services that required an oath to the Constitution – i.e. – a refusal to fire on citizens), the State Rights group – this is one of my groups – the 10th Amendment says that any authority not given to the Federal government by the States, is reserved by the States and its citizens. I think thirteen states have enacted what are called “Memorials” – the root word is “memory” -that reminds the Feds of the 10th amendment. Florida needs one – NOW! We must put pressure on the Florida legislature.
